August has been another busy month. We held three support group sessions and the committee have been busy working behind the scenes on content for our new website that we hope to launch in October. One of our support groups was for parents/carers of children who stammer. The theme of the meeting was how to support children with their stammer going back to school. At a workshop session for the adult support group, we had Life Coach Sue MacGillivray along to run a workshop called ‘Connecting Body and Mind for Healthy Living’. Here we examined the powerful mind/ body connection and ways to harness this to live a healthier life. We also looked at the effects of stress on our bodies and how to reduce its damaging impact.
