It was a bit of a shock to look at last year’s Christmas newsletter to find that the first line was: ‘We’re writing this on the day after the government announced the post-Christmas lockdown.’ This year we’re writing it on the day the government’s next set of restrictions is to be announced. Nevertheless, the centre opened for more days this year than last and we intend to stay open every Tuesday until Easter 2022, Covid notwithstanding. Our final Tuesday before Christmas was an unexpectedly busy day with several families on holiday here for Christmas, popping in to find out about our area and its wildlife and scooping up a few last-minute presents.
