June was the month of our summer BBQ, where the group build for our new shelter began and the Pianodrome had their communal grand piano dissection! Food was eaten, fiddles played and golden harps uncovered. We also had a stall at Meadows fest where our new flyers were distributed leading to a bump in membership numbers. We’ve welcomed many new faces since!
On June 16 the Forge took part in the canal race. Our raft was another group build, cobbled together in the week before the race from our old raft plus extra bits. While not the fastest raft, it seated many and was a great collaborative effort in the soaking rain. We stayed afloat this year and won a ‘smallest raft’ prize.
