As the year draws to a close, all of us at Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home want to say thank you. So far in 2018 we have rescued, reunited and rehomed over 1,250 cats and dogs. We have been able to help all of these animals thanks to the generosity of our community and busniesses like Vegware.

12 Pets of Christmas

The 12 Pets of Christmas social media campaign began on Saturday 1 December to raise money for the Home through our Christmas Appeal and find forever homes for some of our animals. Each social media post featured a festive photo of a different dog or cat and their Christmas wishlist. The campaign raised over £1,000 on Facebook and led to the rehoming of at least three of our animals!

Getting Paw-litical

On Wednesday 5 December, Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home was involved in an exhibition at Scotttish Parliament as part of the Cross Party Group on Animal Welfare. The exhibition was organised to inform MSPs and parlimentary staff about the work of each organisationin the group and the current animal welfare issues affecting animals across the UK.  

Christmas Appeal

Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home’s Christmas Appeal provides the chance for us to raise awareness and funds during the festive season. This year’s appeal featured stories about Bella the bulldog and Bunty the cat, who both arrived at the Home heavily pregnant earlier this year. The staff worked around the clock to ensure Bella and Bunty were safe and healthy during the elivery of theur liters. Fortunately, it didn’t take long for Bella, Bunty and their puppies and kittens to find loving forever homes. These stories are just two examples of the amazing stories that Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home
