It’s been a busy month at The Forge as people have made the most of the lighter evenings and our new members-only Tuesday opening hours. Our metalwork forge is finally up and running, and our resident blacksmith, Luca, has created some examples of the kinds of things our members could learn to make. The Cyrenians – a charity that works to transform the lives of homeless and vulnerable people – have spent a number of Saturdays at The Forge, building an outdoor stove, which they hope to finish this month.

We also ran a series of workshops where our members helped to build tree boxes for the CitySounds project. The boxes have now been installed in the Meadows, where they will monitor the sounds of wildlife and the city hubbub. There has also been a lot of activity on the Forge site, as we prepare to co-host two installations as part of the Architecture Fringe. The installations – Pink Flotillas, and the Baby Pianodrome – will be on display to the public from the 9th – 23rd June.
