The guys completed the bench around an oak tree and benches around a fire pit for the children to do more outdoor learning art St Alberts Primary School as well as putting in poles to zig zag through. Billy has been making concrete moulds for the children to paint and use as stepping stones. They will complete the Mud kitchen in the October holidays. He also made smaller moulds for Callum and Stevie to take to their wives graves. The mono-blocking has been completed under our outdoor shelter and used for Art classes and a musician is doing 4 sing-a-long sessions with 50s and 60s music. They loved it. Stevies been making for signs for the Allotment and John, Tam & Martin have been tending to the flower and vegetable  beds at the allotment. Sarah’s has been taking lots of produce to “Dig In” a community shop to provide cheap fruit and veg to locals and also providing  hot meals using the produce (Urban Roots project). A pool table has been donated much to the members delight and it been well-used ever since. The guys have been enjoying barbeques in the lovely weather.  A research student did a dissertation on Men’s Shed Govan about isolation and the improvement attending has made, showing excellent outcomes ( as expected). The guys have finished one section of the garden and started laying a long path to the garden for wheelchair access.  Billy made special moulds for Calum to take to his wife’s grave. Art classes are held outside and today (3rd September) is a sponsored relay cycle from 10am to 10pm to raise funds.
