September is our busiest month of the year. The water in the North Sea is at its warmest and we often get a lot of waves and sunshine.

They September has not disappointed and we started off the month with our fifth annual surf festival.

This year it took place at Seacliff in East Lothian. What a beautiful and iconic location for our surf festival. Although it was quite stormy that weekend this beautiful spot offered some shelter and we had lovely little waves for the weekend. Throughout the weekend we also had guest teachers – yoga, life coaching, therapeutic writing, music workshop, art workshop, surf strength workouts and much more! We are delighted to raise some funds for our Surf therapy

We have also delivered Surf Bliss sessions and Sand Circle community sessions throughout the month. For a more information check out the drop-down on our website –

We have now completed the fifth week of our current surf therapy program. This program was designed to Support our journey on deepening our policy & values towards becoming more inclusive and welcoming around gender identity.

We are stoked to also have Funding to work with Queen Margaret University to sharing our learning in the form of an innovative tool to support other organisations to be able to look at their inclusion policies.

In October we are looking forward to completing our surf therapy programmes and diving into research and evaluation around our delivery.

Waves of love,

Sally, Charlotte, Abby and the Groundswell co-creative team.
