Home Office contractor SERCO, who provide accommodation for those seeking asylum, have announced they will resume the inhumane practice of lock change evictions against 300 refugees and asylum seekers in Glasgow. This will have a major impact on the safety and well-being of all affected. Support services are expecting an increase in demand as those affected face destitution.

Glasgow has always welcomed refugees, and public action and opinion has shown this is not how the people of Glasgow want refugees and asylum seekers to be treated. We are appealing to the people of Glasgow to help us support those affected with advice and emergency food parcels, through a JustGiving campaign to raise funds [link].

We also gratefully accept donations of food. If you think you might be able to help, please get in touch with philippa@govancommuntyproject.org.uk / 0141 445 3718
