The Mattie Carwood Day centre garden was not fit for purpose last year as it was over grown and neglected. To remedy this, Glasgow’s Golden Generation service users have been working to makeover the space as it’s an enjoyable form of physical exercise, and helps their mobility. Service users will also be starting to grow their own vegetables and look after them daily in the new grow tunnel (pictured). Gardening helps keep elderly people’s general health in a better state by strengthening bones, muscles and joints.
