With the summer holidays well and truly over, our centre in Edinburgh was shut for a week in order to get some essential maintenance done. We were lucky to have corporate teams in all week who helped us paint the inside, do some gardening, lay new turf as well as giving the place a deep clean before welcoming back our families. We opened again at the end of August with one of our biggest events of the year, our annual Summer Family Fair. This year the theme was selected by the children and our families, with the overwhelming majority choosing the very popular Greatest Showman themed!
Our playteam were busy at work over the maintenance closure creating amazing Greatest Showman themed arts, props and games. On the day the place looked fantastic: we transformed the Solardome into a circus tent, had a dumbbell challenge, cut out boards, facepainting and a big Greatest Showman photo booth. We also had a number of volunteers on the day who helped us with the barbecue, manning the games and looking after the pick and mix table. It was a lovely day with over 200 children attending throughout the day, each of them taking part in the games, getting their faces painted and singing along to all the hit songs!
Throughout September our clubs and services have resumed as normal with all the members of the club enjoying the hot tub we had in our Solardome. Our next big events coming up include multiple Halloween parties and Bonfire night!
