November has been another busy month for the charity. We have been working hard to promote our new website and from this, have seen a boost in the number of people getting in touch about our support groups.

We held two support groups in November. One of the groups was our regular check-in meeting where people can come along and talk about how their month has been. The other group meeting was a workshop session led by Dr Kevin Kit to explore ‘Ikigai’ which is a Japanese concept that means “a reason for being”. The word Ikigai itself refers to having a meaningful direction or purpose in life, bringing together the sense of your life being made worthwhile, with actions (spontaneous and willing) taken towards achieving one’s ‘ikigai’, resulting in satisfaction and a sense of meaning.

Stammering can impact on a person’s life in so many ways and taster workshops like these can help give people different viewpoints on how to think about their stammer. I’ve attached a photo of Dr Kit.
