March was a really varied month with lots of support group meetings and we had a comedy benefit night as well to help with funds. We also undertook a social media marketing campaign and had an extra 40 people sign up to our mailing list from it.

Our Young Person group met in March with a celeb guest –  Dr George McGavin (photo attached) who gave a talk about his life growing up with a stammer and his exciting work. Dr McGavin is one of the UK’s foremost entomologists and leading expert on the natural world.  He is also a respected author, tv presenter, academic, explorer and speaker.

Our adult group had a workshop with Life Coach Sue MacGillivray exploring some strong foundations for living our best lives concentrating on the key topics of presence, patience, positivity, power, purpose and projects. There were discussions on the importance of making the most of every situation, how to have focus and intention day by day, all with a view on how it ties into stammering.

Our Parent/Carer group also met with the focus of the session being on exploring feelings around stammering.

One of our members who has been doing stand up comedy for a couple years organised a zoom benefit gig for us with a total of nine comedians taking part and raised £270!

Thanks again for the continuing support, it is so appreciated.
