Vegware’s funding and support is very valuable to us, as we can use it as match funding for our bigger funding applications for our climate education work:

– We have continued to develop and deliver our Positive Imaginings Climate Education programme to primary schools and communities across Scotland. We even took the show to the Isle of Mull, where we worked with all the primary schools on the island!

– In 2024 we developed a new climate education programme for high schools – The Climate Wellbeing Project. As part of this, our new show, Future Influencers reached over 2000 children and their teachers.

– We have recently been awarded funding from the National Lottery’s climate action fund to work with Hope for the Future, Contact, Parents for Future and the London School of Economics to work on a 5 year project designed to empower parents to influence and shape climate and nature policies. ‘A Future for All’ aims to break down barriers to climate advocacy by equipping families – particularly those from low-income households and with disabled children – with the tools and confidence to engage with policymakers. A programme of free events this summer will create engaging, family-friendly spaces for advocacy and action. At the heart of the project is REA’s Positive Imaginings creative climate education programme, which includes an immersive outdoor theatre experience. Using a creative, nature-based approach, the project will give parents and children the time and space to explore how climate change affects them and to envision a hopeful future together. Follow-up events include outdoor family workshops designed to help parents effectively engage with politicians, and in-depth training to equip parents with skills to lead advocacy efforts in their communities. As ‘A Future for All’ embarks on its journey, we invite families, community organisations, and policymakers to join us in shaping a future where all parents have a voice in climate action.

We are currently on the waiting list for office space in the Creative Ward of the Edinburgh Futures Institute. If we secure a work space, we will also use Vegware’s funding to help contribute to these costs.
