Rhubarb Farm - December Update

The days have begun to get shorter as we draw closer to the end of the year. This will be our final update of 2018 but we look forward to the new opportunities and experiences that 2019 will bring us.

Our younger volunteers have been spending more time in the woodworking shed; they have been creating wooden Christmas trees for themselves and their families.

We have begun constructing a second composting toilet, this is important to the development of the Farm as we need more facilities for the increase in our volunteers and events.

In recent months we have been redeveloping the former training room into our new ‘charity’ shop called Pre-Loved Rhubarb. The shop is filled with an eclectic collection of items at very low prices. We have Edwardian furniture, Art Deco table pieces and modern clothing, toys and books. We had the grand opening on Tuesday 4th December with special guests Cllr Kevin Greaves and the Mayor of Worksop, Cllr Madelaine Richardson.

To celebrate the upcoming festivities before breaking up, volunteers and staff enjoyed a lovely Christmas dinner together. The dinner took place in Polytunnel 7, which was decorated specifically for the event
