As we stepped into the new year, we were delighted to welcome back all our children and adults after the Christmas break. Throughout January, our services, including the Milestone Club, Red Boots Nursery and School, sessional services for older children, and the NICE Road to Wellness programmes for adults, resumed as usual. It has been wonderful to see everyone back, working towards their goals with renewed energy and enthusiasm for the year ahead.
This month, we have been excited to introduce SenFlex into our sessions! SenFlex is a fantastic tool designed to support individuals with movement disorders by promoting flexibility, coordination, and strength in a fun and engaging way. By incorporating it into our Conductive Education sessions, we aim to enhance participants’ motor skills, balance, and confidence in movement. Early feedback has been incredibly positive, and we look forward to seeing the long-term benefits for both children and adults at NICE.
At NICE, we are committed to supporting families beyond our Conductive Education sessions, providing them with access to valuable information, resources, and peer connections. On 21st January, we were pleased to welcome Helen and Rimsha from The Movement Centre, who delivered an informative free workshop for parents about their Targeted Training programme. The session provided an opportunity for parents to learn about additional therapy options and to connect with one another over tea and coffee in a relaxed setting. We want to ensure our families have access to a range of approaches that support their child’s development.
We have also been thrilled to launch our Cognitive Games Café & Calligraphy! This exciting new initiative provides a fun and stimulating space where participants can engage in cognitive games designed to enhance language, memory, and quick-thinking skills. Beyond the mental exercises, the project fosters social connections, allowing participants and their partners or carers to build a supportive community. It was fantastic to see everyone engaging, making new connections, and encouraging one another on their journey to better cognitive health. We look forward to many more successful sessions ahead!
