The past 6 months at Garvald Edinburgh have been filled with our usual creativity and community spirit. In August, our Gorgie Workshops hosted an open day, welcoming visitors to explore our facilities, enjoy delicious homemade food and engage in various crafts. This event showcased our members’ talents and the supportive environment we provide.
We participated in the Edinburgh Art Fair in September, showcasing the dynamic work of our talented artists. This is our 3rd year at this event, which provides a fantastic platform for our members to display their work and connect with the wider art community. We were also thrilled to be part of the Hidden Door visual art programme, where our artists presented their work in the unique setting of the Paper Factory.
In October, we joined the DYW Roadshow, engaging with young people and sharing information about opportunities at Garvald Edinburgh. This event connected us with schools all across Edinburgh and Midlothian, inspiring students learn about our work and explore their potential.
Our pop-up shop and exhibition at Atria One in November were well-received, offering a selection of Garvald products. Later that month, Orwell Arts hosted another wonderful Christmas Open Day, bringing festive cheer to all who attended.
We are grateful for the ongoing support from Vegware, whose generosity helps us host events and maintain our commitment to sustainability. Throughout this period, our workshops have thrived, providing an enriching environment for individuals to develop their skills and express themselves. We look forward to sharing more of our journey with you.
