Thanks to the recent warm and sunny weather and with the use of my own greenhouse we have been able to get things growing for our Community Garden. The garden was manured and dug over earlier in the year and several beds of potatoes have been sown. As well as purchasing seeds, compost and equipment we continue to use the money you send us to improve the heavy clay soil and to combat the weeds and bugs that are the enemy of all gardeners.
At a recent meeting of the Meesden Village Hall Committee I was asked to investigate the possibility of extending the planting area which is currently adjacent to the Village Hall to include the currently grassed area surrounding the Hall.
These are exciting times for us and were it not for your support, none of this would be achievable.
