Our photo this month shows our crop of potatoes. September is a traditional month for lifting Main Crop potatoes and the recent dry spell has enabled us to lift the potatoes cleanly and so do not need cleaning before they are stored. The potatoes in the photo are the variety Rooster, they are red in colour and have a unique nutty taste and buttery texture that make them perfect for baking, boiling, mashing, roasting or frying.
