We were very busy getting crafty and creative so we could sell our wares at our local WI Christmas Crafts Fair and our end of year ‘Flower Power’ photography exhibition, Christmas decorations, wreaths and cards helped raise funds for the ongoing work at the garden.

Between May and December 2017, photographer Jason Evans ran still life photographic groups with an emphasis on flower arranging.  Pictures were made on film with a Hassleblad (medium format camera) mounted on a tripod.  Screen printing sessions were run by artist Charlie Evaristo-Boyce to create some of the back drops.  On the 17thDecember we held our successful ‘Flower Power’ photography exhibition to show and sell the work produced at the garden.  The event had a great turnout and lots of the images were sold to raise more funds for the garden.

The Garden hosted an afternoon making wreaths with florist Jo Porritt from greenery found at the garden and people were invited to bring their own tinsel, baubles and bling.  Everyone congregated in the poly tunnel and made some fabulous floral wreaths to take home.

We had a brilliant Christmas dinner on the 20th for all the people who attend the garden, we were able to cater for 40 people in the poly tunnel and served up a full roast with all the trimmings.  Everyone had lots of festive food and fun and shared some very bad Christmas cracker jokes!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Vegware for contributing to the garden during 2017 and would like to wish you all a very happy 2018
