In 2019, your support helped Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home in rescuing 152 cats and 499 dogs; reunite 22 cats and 191 dogs; and rehome 114 cats and 259 dogs. You are pawsome – thank you!
The last few months have been as busy as ever with lots of new animals arriving in need of help and many new developments at the Home including; launching learning Wednesdays; a staff development programme to support both our staff and animals, a brand new website, a story writing competition called ‘Tell Your Tail’ and a pet food bank to support struggling dog and cat owners. Our paws have barely touched the floor.
Jock supporters Rock
We celebrated the success of their first crowdfunding appeal, raising money for vital surgery for a young dog named Jock. Jock came through our door with a large mass on his neck. He was diagnosed with Sialocele, caused by a damaged gland. His operation required expensive, complex specialist surgery and significant aftercare. We moved quickly and the operation to remove the mass on his neck was carried out on at the end of November 2019. Jock had the affected glands and swelling removed under general anaesthetic at Braid Vets Hospital and the complex surgery was a success. Jock recovered well and has since been successfully rehomed to a loving new home.
We are so grateful to everyone at Vegware and the support through the Community Fund who help to care for all of the dogs and cats who desperately need it. Thank you again for being there.
