“Our Food, Our World, Our Future”

Our main activity since the schools went back in August was producing a display and materials to take part in the “Learning for Sustainability” event organised by Highland Councils’ education steering group. The theme of the event was “Our Food, Our World, Our Furture” and consisted of a keynote speaker,  workshops, market place – in which the Growing Award was promoted, and a wonderful global cafe. See poster below.

There were several schools asking about the Growing Award and they will be contacted as soon as the schools are back after the October break to see how  RoWAN can support them.

The other seven pupils have almost done all the tasks they need to achieve Silver Award and will receive their certificates later in October.

We have applied to Awards for All for further funding to expand the availability of the Award across Highland. We should know the outcome before the end of 2016.

This level of activity would not have been possible without the Vegware funding. Many thanks!
