We had a great time contributing to the Royal Edinburgh Hospital Summer Fete, held on 19 August. As in previous years, our produce stall was very popular, and the rain held off for most of the event! There was also fantastic music, with flamenco provided by one of the hospital staff, inspiring jazz singing, and lots of customers for our fruit, veg, flowers and apple juice.
Earlier in the month we worked with NHS Lothian as part of their staff recruitment day on 10th August, where potential applicants were shown round the community gardens, and reminded that the garden is a benefit for staff to come and relax, unwind and enjoy being outdoors in greenspace, as well as for patients, volunteers and members of the public.
Our weekly produce stall held in the main corridor opposite the hospital shop is well attended, and we have welcomed increasing numbers of hospital patients, staff and visitors who are enjoying the summer weather. Our sensory healing workshops programme continues on the wards, and we are preparing to launch a programme of design workshops next month, as well as planning Doors Open Day.
