At Caerhys Organic Community Agriculture (COCA) we have hit the ground running this Spring! Caz and his team have been working flat out planting in the field and polytunnels. With the arrival of our two new full time EVS volunteers Agnes and Hugo who arrived in the first week of February we are in fact ahead of schedule for the time of year and will put us in good stead for bumper crops this year – subject to weather of course!

Unknown-1We have continued our monthly photo competition (see attached photo of Gerald and the pigs out in the growing field). We will be producing a calendar at the end of the year with all the winning photos.

We also had a promotional event in the Ffwrn Cafe in Fishguard towards the end of March which helped raise the profile of COCA in the area.

We have continued to progress our community building Cartref COCA and had a volunteer day on March 29th to lay the floor (see photos). It was hard work but very rewarding to see the space unfold.

Up and coming events include our AGM in the Royal George in Solva at 7.30pm on April 25th and our inaugural Annual Onion Day at Caerhys at 10am on Saturday 30th Solva. Both events are to be a lot of fun and a good way for people to find out more about COCA.
