For the Communications working group, we have been focused on a climate positive campaign. We have posted some reels and memes on our social media to encourage people to join a climate group if they are feeling hopeless about the future. We feel this is really important at the moment with everything that is going on in the world and we want to bring some hope to young people.
We have also been reflecting on how we operate as a working group and are trying out some new things such as bi-weekly meetings and using Whatsapp more to check in with each other.
At our recent team weekend in Cardiff, we posted stories and then a round up post afterwards to share what we got up to.
UKYCC will start recruiting new volunteers again soon so we have started thinking about how we will onboard new volunteers so that we can retain more people. Comms working group has been unlucky with a lot of people dropping off so we are determined to keep new volunteers engaged and inspired to stay with UKYCC.
