The group is now well established and going from strength to strength our weekly expeditions along the Union Canal between Calders and Westerhails are proving to be most popular. We have already collected an abundance of spectacular photographs ready for the exhibition at the Edinburgh Canal Festival.
Canal Shed
In glorious sunshine, artist and storyteller Anne Hunter gave the group a thoughtful introduction to storytelling, and why stories (and telling them) are important. So inspired was one of our members that he will be running a story session at the upcoming Edinburgh Canal Festival and Raft Race on 16 June.
We are currently working on items to sell at our Canal Festival Stall, which will be at Polwarth Parish Church between 2-4 on 16 June, and hear Jim’s stories and browse through the amazing crafts that our members have produced – from art cards to flower planters, hand-made memo-books to earrings, midge-repellent to lip balm… And did I mention our beautiful bird-boxes?
