We have had a very busy time recently, opening our riding yard to the local community for a fundraising open day in September. We had a huge amount of people come up to visit and managed to raise almost a thousand pounds which will go toward our running costs. All in all a lovely way to show the community what we do up at Gareloch RDA!
In October we sent sent a handful of our young riders out to the regional dressage competition! Many rosettes were won which was fabulous! We ran the last tea with a pony of the year and our horses took a week off to rest. Later in the month we ran our annual curry and ceilidh fundraiser which went wonderfully!
For the rest of the year we are continuing lessons before our winter break with weekly volunteer training and education sessions and have been very busy providing our core services. We have also had a competitor take part in the national virtual championships and he came 7/14 which is a phenomenal result! It’s lovely as due to the limitations many of us live with, many of us are unable to compete in person. The virtual championships allow us to submit our routine by video to be judged- making competitions far more accessible to our whole group! We are looking forward to the run up to Christmas too where we all start to have more Christmas games integrated!
