Children of Adam (COA) continues to provide support, food, drinks, clothes, a barbers service and other services to over 110 guests every week. We have seen guest number increasing slowly and personal needs also rising. The service now provides monthly distributions of toilet paper, milk and cans of fish to allow guests to take somethings extra back with them that may help ease their week and help where necessary.
The extra services are being provided as a result of the partnerships we have made with local charities and companies including Vegware which continues to supply us with compostable bags, spoons and cups to help with the distributions. As purse strings in the UK get tighter it has become increasingly difficult to ensure we have sufficient funds and we spent 2 months without enough fruit to distribute among the guests as no donor could be found to fill the shortfall. We have now been able to bridge the gap and continue to provide nourishing fruit for guests along with a hot meal of either meat or vegetarian foods (depending on preference), a ready made meal to take away (sandwiches etc), vegetables, fruits, a sweet bakery item, soup, hot and cold drinks and bread.
