Fairdeals – an organisation that provides gardening opportunities for people with mental disabilities – has teamed up with Glasgow’s Golden Generation at the Mattie Carwood Centre one day a week to revamp the garden area. The funding from Vegware is allowing this to take place.
As you will see from the before and after photos, the garden area was a complete jungle. The difference this clearance will make will be night and day. Come the spring, it will allow the elderly a comfortable safe area to sit and enjoy the sunshine.
Currently, work is at a standstill until the weather improves but once things get moving again the area will be planted out and new garden furniture bought. The elderly have been watching the progression of this area with excitement and can’t wait for the Spring.
