St Josephs cookingBHSG Volunteer Activities

In early December our shop volunteers had a visit to the North Glasgow Community Food Initiative at their Milton Food Hub. The project provides fruit and veg sales and our group had a visit to their community garden which also offers great volunteering and learning opportunities. A great day was had by all. We also had a fun Christmas Party with refreshing fruit drinks and fruit and veg treats and paper craft and a quiz.

For the rest of December the BHSG volunteers were busy in the shop preparing lots of festive fruit and veg orders, including our popular fruit plates.

Our Fruit and Veg shop closed for a few days to allow all the volunteers and staff to have a well-earned break over Christmas and New Year.

Some of our other activities in the community –

Our Adult cooking groups and exercise groups with crèche were very busy throughout December.

Lots of children at St Joseph’s Nursery School enjoyed ‘Cooking up a story’ and had fun making pizza.

Even with some heavy rain around  our Walking and Chair Exercise  groups were well attended too.

We are now preparing and looking forward to our new groups in 2016, they will all be up and running by the end of January 2016.
